On 15th of March 2022, the People’s Democratic Party Chairman, Enugu State Chapter, visited his counterpart, PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorcha Ayu, in Abuja, accompanied by the State’s pioneer PDP Chairman, Chief Barr. Egumgbe, and other former party chairmen; Chief Vita Abba OON (The Agreement was reached and executed in his tenure) and Chief Ikeje Asogwa .

According to insiders who were privy to the visit stated that their mission was simple and straightforward; they, being the conscience of the party in Enugu State, came to brief the National Chairman, Mr. Ayu, and the National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, about the established zoning agreement in the state which has fostered peace, development and growth in Enugu State.

This became necessary some desperate elements within the party in the state are hell bent at causing confusion and chaos due to their selfish interest by claiming that no agreement exist even when some of them were signatories to the agreement.

The leadership of the party gave the party faithful unwavering audacity of assurance. The Chairman particularly informed them that the present National Working Committee of PDP stands for equity and fairness, and advised them to go about working for the party without fear of political monsters and agents of destabilization as no one would be able to hijack any process in the forthcoming primary election.

With the new development, political analysts have predicted that Senator Ekweremadu who has been working against the party in the state may have his ambition vanguished which would relegate him into political oblivion.
