Governor Zulum swears in 19 commissioners

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has sworn-in 19 commissioners as new members of the state executive council.

Zulum, in his remark shortly after the swearing-in at the State Secretariat in Maiduguri, tasked the newly sworn-in cabinet members to give him regular advice which can improve governance.

He also asked the commissioners to hold regular meetings with stakeholders in their various ministries and forward resolutions and recommendations to him through the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

He urged the cabinet members to take the lead in promoting punctuality at work. He reminded them that office hours start from 8 am and ends by 4 pm except on Fridays when work ends at noon.

The swearing was conducted by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Kashim Zanna represented by Justice Fadawu Umaru.

Three new appointees were among those sworn-in while 16 former commissioners returned to the cabinet. Zuwara Gambo, the former Commissioner for Women Affairs, has not been screened by the House of Assembly.
