Idowu Iluyomade Resigns Pastoral Appointment With RCCG

Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, a former senior pastor the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, City of David Parish, Region 20, has resigned his appointment with the church.

Iluyomade was until last week, the pastor of the hugely successful branch until he got transferred to the Throne of Grace branch, Ebute Metta, Lagos, which serves as the headquarter of the mission, by the church leadership.

He was expected to take charge at his new station where he will serve as the Pastor-in-Charge of elders.

The former Pastor in-charge of RCCG Resurrection Parish of Region 11, Pastor Charles Kpandei has since been seconded to the City of David Parish to take over from Iluyomade.

Ironically, Kpandei preached at the combined Service of Songs held on March 7, 2024 at the RCCG Resurrection Parish, Lekki, Lagos State for the late Wigwes.

The transfer however didn’t go down well with Iluyomade and his wife, Siju, both of who were conspicuously absent during church service this past Sunday when his transfer was announced, hence his decision to pull out of the RCCG family.

Reliable sources reveal that he turned in his resignation on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Iluyomade’s transfer may not be unconnected to obscene and lavish 60th birthday of his wife threw on February 18, 2024.

The birthday party which had all the trappings of luxury held at the Eko Hotels & Suites in Lagos with highlife, sensual singer, Chinedu Okoli aka Flavour leading the pack of singers who serenaded guests at the party which included Tony Elumelu, the chairman of United Bank for Africa, UBA; Nneka Onyeali Ikpe, the managing director of Fidelity Bank; Oba Ghandi Olaoye, the Soun of Ogbomoso who was a former RCCG pastor, among several other prominent guests.

A cross section of Nigerians thought it was insensitive for the Iluyomades to throw such a party particularly when it was just too soon after Herbert Wigwe, founding CEO of Access Holdings Plc, his wife, Chizoba and son died in a helicopter crash in the US on February 9.

Wigwe was a prominent member of the church and one of the church’s financiers.

This act of insensitivity prompted the Wigwe family to distance themselves from the Iluyomades and the City of David branch. Moreso because despite the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adegboyega personally paying the mourning family a condolence visit, the Iluyomades couldn’t care less.

The Iluyomades have remained silent as events unfold just as they have kept their next plan close to their chest.
