IGP Adamu Tells Police officers To Use Firearms When Their Life Is In Danger

The Inspector General of Police Muhammed Adamu instructed the police officers to result to the use of firearms if they perceived their live is in danger. He said this in a video shared by ChannelsTV on twitter.
He asked “does it make sense for an officer carrying arm to be killed?”
The order says an officer may result to the use of firearms if a person try to attack him with gun, stick, machete or other dangerous weapons. And anyone that commit offense that is liable to imprisonment of 7 years or death may be shoot.
The law however stated that the action maybe contested in court where the court will determine whether the officer was truly in danger.
