Industrialization: Gov Soludo Seeks Collaboration With Chinese Companies

In its bid to industrialize and build a liveable city through agro businesses, the government of Anambra State led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo last Friday, at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu, in Anaocha Local Government Area, held an Economic Partnership Event with captains of industries, economic and financial experts as well as representatives of Chinese companies from Shenzhen Great Bay, China.

In his opening remarks, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Anambra State, Dr Forster Ihejiofor stated the Ministry was saddled with the responsibility of implementing and monitoring other agricultural programmes, policies and regulations, ensuring an increase in total food and animal production in a sustainable manner through the encouragement of private individuals and organizations engaged in farming to succeed.

He noted that they were to drive the present administration’s policy thrust of regenerative agriculture in line with Economic Transformation Agenda aimed at building a secure economic future for Ndi Anambra by re-enacting oil palm revolution.

For his part, the Commissioner for Industry, Anambra State, Mr. Christian Udechukwu described Anambra State under Soludo’s watch as promising investments headquarters of the world, asking the Chinese companies present to leverage the Solution Innovation District (SID) otherwise known as Solution Silicon Valley, by obtaining a space there where their companies would be sited, noting that would fully completed all manner of businesses would be transacted within the district.

The industry Commissioner announced that Soludo’s led administration would be building a Dragon City to be called Chinese Town where the relationship between Ndi Anambra and Chinese people would be further cemented, stating that it the state was equally going into power plants, automative parks as well as financial service companies, adding that it would be the highest and largest trading investment cooperative in Africa.

‘Think partnership and investment ; think Anambra State. Government cannot do it alone. Without the people’s support government will do very little. It is give and take thing. Join the government’s drive for liveable and prosperous Anambra State,’ he appealed.

Contributing, the Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji the Managing Director and Chief Executive Office of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, ACTDA, Mr. Ossy Onuko applauded the representatives from the Shenzhen Great Bay for choosing the state as their investment destination.

Mr. Onuko enjoined them to partner the state by having a Twinny-city, saying that Shenzhen Great Bay could be replicated within the Awka Capital Territory.

Reacting, the Director for Qiujjian Group, Mr. Wang Bo stated that Shenzhen Bay Area is a major economic powerhouse, contributing significantly to China’s GDP, emphasizing that it is home to numerous fortune 500 companies and that it is a hub for technology, finance, and manufacturing, adding that the region’s economic growth is driven by its strategic location, skilled workforce, and government support.
