A former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka has described late Justice Chima Centus Nweze as a most respected and cerebral jurist.
Chidoka said he held Nweze in high esteem although they never met in person.
However, the former Minister added that he would remember Nweze for his judgment that saw the removal of former Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, among his many cerebral judgments and his brilliant academic contributions to law.
Chidoka in a statement via his verified Twitter handle on Monday, said it was sad that many will remember Nweze for what he described as “the bizarre Senator Ahmed Lawan judgment”.
He wrote, “Justice Chima Centus Nweze was reported dead this morning. Tragic. He was my most respected and cerebral jurist. I never met him in person but held him in high esteem.
“Sadly, many will remember him for the bizarre Sen. Lawan’s judgment. I will remember him for Ihedioha’s judgment and his many cerebral judgments on the bench and his brilliant academic contributions to law.
“His death at this time is quite inauspicious and disturbing. May God forgive his sins and grant him mercy.”
It was learned that Justice Nweze died on Sunday at the age of 64.
