Kano police lift 24-hour curfew in the state

The Kano State Police Command has lifted the 24-hour curfew imposed on the city.

This follows a directive from Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to security authorities to end the dusk-to-dawn restrictions.

The 24-hour curfew was initially imposed by the state government in conjunction with the police, shortly after the announcement of the State Governorship Elections Tribunal judgement, which nullified Governor Yusuf’s election.

The lifting of the curfew was conveyed in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.

It was observed that vehicular movement has since resumed on the major roads of the state, while shops and street hawkers have resumed their businesses despite the evening hour.
