Lagos commissioner tackles GVR over comment on cause of Lagos flood
The Lagos Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has tackled former Labour Party governorship candidate in the 2023 General election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, GRV, over his take on reasons for flooding in the state.
In a post shared on his X handle, Gbadebo shared a video of a canal in Lekki Phase 1 covered with weeds. He asked if it is the responsibility of the citizens to clear the canal for easy flow of rainwater or the government.
‘’Here is a Canal in Lekki overgrown with weeds that disrupts the free flow of water. As i always say, It is far easier to clear canals than it is to demolish buildings.” he wrote
Wahab who appeared unsettled by GRV’s seeming callout, wrote;
‘’Eventually, you will be fine.”
