Nigeria Ex international boxer Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo Call on APC and PDP Leaders to have a Limit and avoid instigation Statement against one another because of Vote in view of local Nigerians mindset .
Mazi Okoronkwo said that the Statement made by APC National Leader and a Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria who is neither from Edo State nor living in Edo State broadcasted by NTA on 15th September 2020 evening calculated as Compaign strategy for Edo State Gubernatorial Election is worrisome and a bad signal with many interpretation.
Going by Youth and active Sports man and women understanding, its clearly justified Sporting active athletes and My assertion that political Crisis in Edo State contributed to continue closure of Active Sporting activities in Nigeria which is regrettable.
Because According to calculation, supposing that Active Sports activities including Contact Sports was reopen in Nigeria. National Sports Festival could have went on in Edo State.
Which could have be a credit to the sitting Governor and advantages in attracting more youth and Sportsmanship support.
In another vein In view of the Covid 19 lockdown, I am tempted to ask this question, if election Compaign of that magnitude of Mass garhering went on in Edo State and others during this Covid 19 Pandemic, Why can’t Nigeria center for Disease Control (NCDC)/ Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid 19/Federal Government reopen active Sports activities including contact sports considering that Sports have less guidelines and protocol in Nigeria?
Considering that Nigeria sportsmen and Women needed earlier time for preparation in line with Japan 2021 Olympics Games Africa qualification series protocol wherein some countries have started their own preparation.
Therefore from the unfolding of events there is no more moral Justification to continue to lockdown active Sports activities especially contact Sports while Compaign of mass gathering as seen in Edo State did not create Health crisis and more spread of Covid 19 among others.
The above happening clearly demonstrated that Some of the Political office holders in Nigeria are no more working for the interest of the people but rather to achieve their own personal interest which is not good for Nigeria Democracy.
Because it is calculated that some political office holders used the forum of Covid 19 Pandemic to attack their political opponents which is an ingredient of Abuse of Office.
Leaders should understand that Nigeria is above few individuals.
I called on Voters, in all those State that election will be conducted to vote wisely,
Because Election Time is the major time to select democracy leader.
I also advise Nigerians and Union Leaders to stop all kinds of protest and strikes but convert their thoughts to peaceful voting process during Elections.
