Niger state governor sacks works commissioner

The Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, has relieved the state commissioner for works and infrastructure development, Engineer Ibrahim Mohammad Panti, of duty.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mrs Mary Noel-Berje, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

No reason for the removal of the commissioner, who was also the chairman state salary management committee, was given.

The CPS said the Commissioner for Planning, Alhaji Mamman Musa, is to assume office as the Commissioner for Works and infrastructure, while the Finance Commissioner, Alhaji Zakari Abubakar, will oversee Planning Commission in addition to the Finance Ministry.

“Mamman Musa is to handover Planning Commission to Zakari, while Engr Ibrahim Mohammad Panti hands over to Mamman Musa with immediate effect,” the statement added.
