Femi Gbajabiamila, speaker of the house of representatives,
has hailed President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration into office.
Tinubu, who was elected on February 25, took the oath of
office on Monday.
In a statement released by Lanre Lasisi, his special adviser
on media, Gbajabiamila said Nigeria has taken off on a good footing after the
administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the country will truly witness “renewed hope” as
captured in Tinubu’s inaugural speech where he promised Nigerians that he will
govern and not rule them.
Gbajabiamila said Tinubu is a “dogged fighter, democrat,
unifier and nationalist” who won’t govern below expectations.
“It has been a long walk. But with determination, resilience,
tenacity, and doggedness, the Almighty God has made it possible,” he said.
“Nigerians have spoken and today, we are witnessing the
inauguration of one of our finest and most strategic politicians in history as
Nigeria’s president.
“I have no doubt in
my mind whatsoever that President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will take Nigeria
to the next level of good governance.”
Similarly, Tajuajeed Abbas, a speakership hopeful, expressed
hopes that Nigeria will be better under Tinubu and Vice President Kashim
Shettima.
In a statement, Abbas said Nigeria will witness massive
development through Tinubu’s policies and programmes in the next couple of days
“I am hopeful and optimistic that Nigeria will be better
under these two leaders of ours. They came to office ready to deliver, and I am
sure they will deliver,” the lawmaker representing Zaria federal constituency
said.
“I will like to call
on Nigerians to support the administration of President Tinubu, irrespective of
party affiliations, so that out country will be great again.”
