A Nigerian expert on Military History, Afam Aminu Chimezie has pleaded with the European Union(EU) , United Nations (UN) , Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry,Minister for Foreign and all relevant agencies to give him an opportunity to intervene in the ongoing war between former members of the defunct Soviet Union.

Chimezie who is the Coordinator, Campaign for Moral and Social Liberation of Nigerians (CAMSOLINA) made the plea yesterday while interacting with reporters over the unfortunate war between the two neighbors.

According to the analyst on foreign affairs who said he stands a better chance of ending the unnecessary waste of lives and materials in the war because of his neutrality as a Nigerian and African who doesn’t have a stake in the politics of NATO and EU,however, expressed concern in the devastation of innocent lives on the two sides.

He disclosed that not even the Nigerian Government nor African Union has the capability of intervening in the war as Africa and AU were still battling with their own self- inflicted injuries and institutional corruption due to bad leadership.

He maintained that regional bodies in Asia, the Pacific and others who believe in neutrality of objectives should not sit on the face while a section of the world is being consumed by war, adding that African Continent should be ruled out from intervention as insecurity, corruption and frequent blood -letting have consistently become norms in Africa.

He affirmed the readiness of his organization , CAMSOLINA to quickly restore peace and confidence among the two warring nations if accorded the opportunity.

Chimezie noted that the world can not continue to watch Russia and Ukraine engage in a senseless war that could be avoided, adding that when two persons or countries are fighting it is the duty of a non interest party to intervene and stop the fight.

“America, EU and AU don’t seem to inhibit the neutrality to end this war.Africa under African Union has the moral burden to intervene, but the continent has a lot in her hands, ranging from recent coups in some Francophone countries in West Africa, corruption, mass unemployment, hunger and high level of insecurity at various levels which is still haunting the continent.
