Operation Restore Peace Is People-Driven

The recent launch Operation Restore Peace in Enugu by the Ag. Inspector General of Police is borne out people cry to federal government to intervene in the recent spike on crimes in south-East zone .

This launch Operation Restore Peace by the Ag. IGP Usman Alkali Baba in Enugu on 18th May, 2021 is a deliberate effort by the Police high command to stabilize security order in the south east.

The zone of late has witness upsurge in cases of kidnapping, armed robbery, communal violence and attacks on security agents and our national infrastructures. Therefore this informed the decision of the launch of the operation.

In a chat with our correspondent , the Police Public Relation officer Anambra State Command State DSP Ikenga Tochukwu said that the Police high Command under the administration of the Ag. IGP Usman Alkali baba , psc(+). NPM fdc is deeply concerned about the recent spike of crime in the zone and most especially deliberate attacks on security agents and our national assets, thus the operation is unique and targeted to restore peace (law and order).

Operation Restore Peace will confront criminal elements and address crimes such as banditry, kidnapping and armed robbery, the Nigeria Police Force , he said.

It aims to “roll back the murderous attacks, violence, proliferation of weapons and other threats to law and order occasioned by criminals elements,” the force stated.

DSP Ikenga further urged Ndi Anambra to work with Police and other security agents as the operation is people driven and at every time shall be reviewed to address issues.
