The Presidents and Secretaries of all the Churches in Abatete, the Executive members of Eziowelle Improvement Union (EIU) and Abatete Anglican Community visited him in his office at Idemili North Council’s Headquarters, Ogidi.
Speaking during the visit, the President of All Abatete Anglican Community and the Coordinator of Presidents and Secretaries of all the Churches in Abatete, Dame Azuka Njelita applauded the Mayor for always identifying with all the Churches in Abatete, describing him as a ecumenical Chairman and shining example to many, adding that as mothers they would continue to play their role as bridge builders and home managers.
Dame Njelita enjoined women to rally round the Chairman and endeavour to contribute their quota towards improving the lives of Ndi Idemili North Local Government Area, assuring that they would not derail from their primary responsibility as wives and mothers.
The President thanked the Chairman for keeping to his promise of evacuating the toxic wastes causing serious health problems and challenges to traders at Eke-Agu Abatete, saying they were super impressed with speed at which the people’s Mayor cleared the hitherto life-threatening wastes and also making the market place a more conducive environment for trading,adding that the gesture alone has endeared him more to the people’s hearts and as well stands him out as Ekwueme.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive members of Eziowelle Improvement Union (EIU), the President Eziowelle Improvement Union (EIU), Dr. Lady Jessie Obicheta commended the Chairman for all his works in the Council, stating that the women of Eziowelle are solidly behind him, even as she urged him to remember to include them in his empowerment plans.
Responding the visibly elated Idemili North Mayor thanked the groups for finding time to visit him, assuring that his empowerment programmes cut across all the communities in the Council, adding that it would not be limited to a particular town.
