Recent Killings In Plateau, Set Back To Peace – APC Women Forum

A group, the Progressive Young Women Forum of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Plateau State chapter has condemned the killing of travelers in Plateau on Saturday, as well as an earlier incident of killing of Irigwe people by bandits, describing it as a set back to peace process in the state.

They expressed this in a statement signed by Ms. Esther Pam Hwere, its State Secretary, made available on Sunday August 15, 2021.

“We are the Progressive Young Women Forum of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Plateau State Chapter join in condemning the killings of commuters along Gada-Biyu/Rukuba road yesterday.

“We as young aspiring leaders and mothers see this as a setback to the peaceful coexistence we have all been praying for.

“We mourn with the families of the bereaved and pray that God will console them on this sad incident hoping that this will come to an end very soon than we expect,” it said.

The group encouraged Governor Simon Lalong not to lose focus as they stand by his proactive measures taken to curb this ugly carnage.

“We equally mourn the Irigwe nation over the mass burial of their people who were mercilessly killed by Fulani murderers recently.
