Abuja Would Have Been Like Ajaokuta If Not For IBB’s Vision – SDP Presidential Candidate Adewole

We should be interested in what we have learnt from the intersection of IBB political and leadership philosophy in power.

IBB left power 30 years ago, but we are here still discussing about him, this is credit to his legacy.

IBB was a youth when he took over power, and all the wonderful things he achieved, were done while he was a youth, so that breaks the myth that you must be old and tired before you can make sense in Nigerian politics.

We are not just celebrating IBB because of the physical structures he was able to erect or for giving us a brand new federal capital territory, for if he had not done that, Abuja would have been like the Ajaokuta project.

Whatever virtues and vices IBB had while in power, the question is what have we learnt from them?

Whatever he achieved or failed to achieve should not be an excuse for us to have a government worse than the one he ran.

Our duty is to consolidate where he got it right and learn lessons where he got it wrong.
That is one lesson I have learnt as a leader, I will never make the mistakes made by an earlier leader, and I will never spoil whatever they got right.

Let us not dwell on lamentations and cry over spilt milk, any challenge we meet in Nigeria as Nigerians, that is the challenge for the age.
