Sevilla have now joined Barcelona in the race to sign Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar according to reports from Soccernet.
It was gathered that Los Nervionenses are desperate in bolstering their attack and have now made the Nigerian star one of their summer targets.
Umar has been in dazzling form for Almeria in the Spanish Segunda division having joined from Partizan Belgrade in October 2020.
The 25-year-old has been Almeria’s best player since he joined and is said to be one of the deadliest strikers in Spanish football.
He scored 20 goals in 38 appearances last season and so far this season he has netted 10 times having made 22 appearances. The Super Eagles star’s brilliant displays have not gone unnoticed.
Last summer, Umar was linked to Barcelona and Newcastle, but nothing concrete emerged from those talks.
Under coach Lopetegui, Sevilla have proven themselves to be title contenders. This season, they sit second, four points behind Real Madrid.
