Soludo Support Group (SSG) Launches Members Welfare Scheme

Today Thursday February 10th 2022, the pioneer support group that worked vigorously to deliver the Governor-Elect into power, Soludo Support Group (SSG) under the auspice leadership of the Convener and National Coordinator, Hon Chinedu Nwoye Glamour, a member of Anambra State Transition Committee activated the members welfare scheme package.

In his opening remark, Hon Chinedu Glamour appreciated the leadership of the welfare committee and the SSG Deputy National Coordinator, Chief Awugosi for volunteering to be a consultant to the committee. He had special reservations for the SSG 21 Local Government Coordinators, Women Leaders and Secretaries for taking the Membership Verification forms to all the 326 Wards in Anambra State.

Hon Chinedu Glamour confessed that the Governor-Elect, Prof Charles C. Soludo in the past, asked him about the numerical strength of SSG but was unable to provide an accurate figure. He extended gratitude to the incoming Governor for allowing them to use his name to build SSG structure and campaign for his governorship ambition. He went further to explain the reason for the establishment of the welfare committee is to assist and empower members. He revealed that the sum of N11.5 Million has been generated through the help of Members and Patrons. Free interest loans will be issued from the funds to most especially traders.

The Chairman, SSG Members Welfare Scheme and BOT Member SSG, Madam Lady Edna Obiakor pointed out that the welfare commitee will disburse funds specifically to members who are poor and less privileged for a start. She said a loan of N50,000 repayable after one year with zero percent interest will be granted to 2 poor members of SSG specifically small scale traders selected from the 21 Local Government of Anambra State.

Dignitaries in attendance are Hon Ochije Modilim (Ochije Awka, SSG Zonal Coordinator, Anambra Central), Chief Anthony Amaechi Okeke (Ezekwueche Aguleri, SSG Coordinator, Lagos State) amongst others.
