The Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Efficiency, Training and Motivation, Dr. Ngozi Okonkwo, has resigned her appointment in Governor Obiano’s cabinet. Ms. Ngozi, the immediate past Account General of Anambra State was formerly appointed the Special Adviser to Governor Obiano on Internally Generated Revenue in 2014, at the inception of the Obiano’s administration, before her appointment as Anambra State Accountant General, an office she occupied till 2018. After her tenure as Accountant General, she was appointed Special Adviser on Efficiency, an office she occupied till her resignation.
In her resignation letter dated 3rd January 2020, Ms. Ngozi cited personal reasons for her decision to resign and thanked the Governor for the opportunity he gave her to serve in many capacities in his administration. In her words, “I write to communicate my decision to resign from the services of the Government of Anambra State with effect from 3rd February 2020, for personal reasons”. Going further she wrote “Thank you very much for these opportunities that enabled me to make my professional contributions to the development of our great state”….
Ms. Ngozi is Chartered Accountant and also a Forensic Accountant, with over two decades of professional experience. She is in addition, a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a certified fraud examiner. She has two masters degree in Accounting and Banking and Finance, as well as a PhD in Accounting.
She wished the governor, members of the state executive council and the people of Anambra state well.
