Three Injured As Tricycle Beats Traffic Light, Rams Into Truck In Anambra

Raymond Ozoji, AwkaIt was a gory sight at Kwata junction Awka on Sunday as a tricycle beat traffic light and unfortunately rammed to an on-coming heavy duty truck which dismembered the Keke and left three persons critically injured on the spot.Situation report made available to newsmen by the public relations officer of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Anambra, RC Paschal Anigbo has it that the crash occurred about 9.23am.The report reads, “Road Traffic Crash involving a Tricycle and a Truck was reported to have occurred at Kwata Junction, about One and a half kilometers from the FRSC Command in Awka.“The crash which was reported at about 9.29am occurred when the Tricycle with Reg. No.ABN469QB beat the traffic light and was not so lucky as an upcoming M/Benz Truck with Reg No. ENU352ZU rammed into it, injuring 3 persons (1Female Adult and 2 Male Children). Total number of victims involved were 6 (3 Male Adults, 1 Female Adult and 2 Male Children).“The injured victims were rushed to Hope Alive Hospital Kwata, while both vehicles were impounded at the Police Station.The obstructions have been cleared. FRSC operatives are on ground managing traffic.The Sector Commander, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi has warned motorists to adhere strictly to all Road Traffic Rules and Regulations, as disobedience to any can only lead to avoidable road mishaps.”
