Traders jubilates as Mr. Jude Nwankwo re-elected President of Building Material International Market, Ogidi

The entire traders at the Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State recently jubilation and also celebrating the mega victory of Chief Jude Nwankwo who retained his position , and swept in into power as the Market President after the market election.
According to our correspondent, the urgence of the market incumbent President, Chief Nwankwo, for a second term, was a reflection of the popularity of the market boss who has piloted the affairs of the market Traders’ Union in the last four years.
The incubent Chairman , Chief Nwankwo, contested the election unopposed, scored 952 votes in what was witnessed as a free and fair election conducted under Chief Sir Sam Emeka as the Returning Officer.
Following his unchallenged victory, the second term President is expected to consolidate on his past achievements in restaining peace in the market
Speaking shortly after inauguration of the Winners , Chief Jude Nwankwo , spoke on behalf of the market executives thanked the traders for re-elected him to run the second tenure as the President of the market .

”We promise to do more , the work we did during our last tenure will be double and it will be greater than this four years we entering,” Chief Nwankwo stated.
Meanwhile, thevVice-president of the Market Union, Sir Cyril Ugwuja, who polled 591 votes to retain his position, described his victory and those of the incumbent executives as a great testimony of the administration’s wonderful performance in the past four years.
While urging the winners to exercise magnanimity in victory, the elected Assistant Secretary of the market who polled 587 votes to defeat his opponent, said he was happy to be associated with his colleagues, noting that traders in the area operate like one big family and assist fellow traders when in need.
Anambra State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association, (ASMITA), Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu, able represented by the Zonal Chairman of ASMITA, Chief Anthony Onwuetiaka, who described the election as credible, and urged other markets in the state to emulate the transparency and credibility ehibited during Ogidi building materials election.
Chief Onwuetiaka who is also the Chairman, Ose-Okwodu Market Traders Association, Onitsha, emphasized that the smooth conduct of the election had shown that traders of the market were ready to take their destiny in their own hands.
Also Speaking , the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor on Market Affairs, who is also Chief Patron of the market, Honourable Sunday Nwasah praised the efforts of the traders in ensuring a smooth and successful exercise.
He enjoined both winners and losers to display maturity in their conduct, stressing that the election was just a mere game and that there is always another time.
The Chief Patron of all patron at Building Material Onternational Market , Hon. Silas Ezeabocha , described Chief Jude Nwankwo as a very honest and transparent man., adding that apart from his honesty and transparency, he is also a great achiever.
