Two Catholic Sister Allegedly Kidnapped in Orumba North, Police Launch Rescue Operation

A Joint police-led operation is underway to rescue two Catholic nuns allegedly kidnapped along Ufuma Road in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The incident reportedly occurred on the evening of January 7, 2025, as the nuns were returning from a vocational service meeting in Ogboji.

In response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, and the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations visited the scene for a spot assessment. The Commissioner assured that the command is following credible leads to ensure the arrest of the suspects and the rescue of the victims.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, noted that further updates would be communicated as the investigation progresses.

Authorities are urging the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police as efforts intensify to resolve the situation.
