The Anambra State Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children and Women Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has waded into the case of a widow, Mrs Ajuese Obiorah, who was paraded naked in Aguleri over the death of her husband.

Lady Mezue on Sunday, March 13th, 2022, following a video that went viral on Social Media, stormed Aguleri to wade into the case of the widow who was seen in the viral video being paraded naked on the street, over accusation of adultery which they claimed resulted in her husband’s death.

Speaking at the family home of the widow, Lady Mezue assured the family of justice, and encouraged them not to despair, she said ” I have been contacted on phone by the Honorable Minister for Social Development and Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, also Wife of the Governor of Anambra State Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano, all have interest in this case, everybody involved in this inhuman act will be brought to book. ”

Reacting to the incident, the Igwe of Aguleri HRH Igwe Mike Idigo, said the action of the few whom he doubted their Aguleri indigeneship, is not the custom of his people, assuring that the traditional council of the town is already looking into the matter to ensure justice for the widow.
