Yuletide: Anambra State Police Command collaborates With FRSC And Delta Police To Ease Traffic Congestion at Niger Bridges

In a bid to address traffic congestion at the First and Second Niger Bridge during and after the festive season, the Anambra State Police Command has launched a joint operation in collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command and the Delta State Police Command.
This was contained in a press release issued to newsmen in Awka by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Anambra State Command stated that this strategic initiative, spearheaded by Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, was part of an operational plan formulated after a comprehensive security assessment conducted with the Police Command’s management team. The plan aims to resolve traffic-related issues and enhance security along key routes in the State.
SP Ikenga said during this strategic initiative , the police part of this effort, CP Itam, accompanied by the Sector Commander of the FRSC Anambra State, visited the First and Second Niger Bridge to assess the situation and implement necessary measures. The Commissioner also reached out to his Delta State counterpart to strengthen cooperation and intensify surveillance patrols. This partnership seeks to mitigate criminal activities on the roads and ensure a seamless flow of traffic during the holiday season.
SP Ikenga also said that CP Itam reaffirmed the commitment of the Anambra State Police Command to safeguarding travelers, maintaining law and order, and building on the successes already achieved in crime prevention. He assured residents and travelers of continuous efforts to improve public safety and security in the State.
The Anambra State Police Command urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and incident-free festive period.
