Eye witness accounts, and other independent investigations I have conducted, including the exhibit with the police, shows clearly that he was murdered by the 72 Brigade officers on patrol, on the 15th of January 2021.

Please my good people, take an objective read of this eye witness accounts, and judge for yourselves:

“The patrol vans of 72 Brigade officers have always come to our North Bank Tax Collection point.

“Whenever a patrol van comes, they will ask us to give them money. On the days we have enough money, we will happily give them some money for their fuel. Other days when we do not give them money, they become very aggressive, and will start beating up the men on duty.

“On the Night of Jan. 15, at about 10:45 pm the last time I checked my watch. I was lying down at the corner of our tax point, then I noticed that an Army patrol van had put off our light and drove off. I thought it was their usual rage, so I remained calm. One of us went back and put on the light.

“They reversed and returned to the check point. One of the soldiers rushed at me and hit me with his gun, and held me. But luckily I managed to escape from his grip, and I ran away.

All Circumstantial Evidence Show that 72 Brigade Soldiers Killed Terfa

“When I had ran to a safe distance, I hid, but I could see them. I noticed that other boys had also ran away, leaving only our oga, Mr Terfa.

“As I watched, I saw that he was been beaten with a stick. He was on the ground, then they lifted him into their van, and drove off.

“I used my phone to call one of our boss at the office, to inform him of what has happened; he came to the tax point, then we all set out to look for him that night.”

That was just one of the eye witness account. I also took the account of the senior officer that was called that night. Take a final read before you make your judgment:
“I thought it was a simple misunderstanding, between the 72 Army boys, and my people. But, when I got on the phone line with Mr. Terfa, I knew something was wrong. All I could hear him say before the line got disconnected was ‘help me, help me, soldiers are beating me’.

“I called back his phone, again and again, but he didn’t pick up.
I immediately called another senior officer to inform him of what was happening. He called a senior officer in 72 Brigade, to ask his men to stop beating his staff they had held, and for them to release him. After a while, he called back and said, his boys had patrolled along the check point, but didn’t arrest any BIRS staff.

“We became more worried, then we went out to look for them.
We went to 72 Barracks gate, and asked the Army officers on duty at the gate, about their patrol van.
They said that the patrol van had left much earlier, and have not returned to the barracks.

“We rode along the North Bank road to Nyiman park, hoping we could find them, but we didn’t see them. We called, the phone rang, but he didn’t pick.
We all went back to our houses, trusting that in the morning he will be released.

“In the Early hours of Sunday morning, I received a call from one of our worker. He said some youths at AperAku housing estate called him with Mr. Terfa’s phone number; they said, that they sighted an Army truck dropping a man by the road side.

“I quickly put on my clothes, and called my driver, so that we could rush and take him to a hospital. Only to get there, and discovered that he was dead.
I believe those soldiers killed him and layed him by the road to make It seem like it is an accident. We went to C Division police station, and they came and took the lifeless body of Terfa, to the General hospital mortuary.
“His Smart phone and the cash he had worked for the day, was looted by his killers. Only the BIRS POS and his small phone was left on him.”

Police investigations, has also discovered the sticks which the BIRS officers use to stop vehicles, at the 72 division gate, with blood stains on it.

All these and more have clearly proven, that the patrol soldiers of 72 Brigade killed Mr. Terfa Akure.

We are still waiting for the Government and the Army to give justice to late Terfa Akure, so that his soul can rest in peace.

We will never let it slide under the carpet!
