Soludo Signs Contract with Canadian Firm to Develop Railway Master Plan
The Anambra State government has signed a contract with a Canadian firm, CPCS, to develop a master plan for the construction of railways in the state.
The railways will connect the major business hubs in the state, including Onitsha, Nnewi, Igboukwu, Ekwulobia, Oko, and Umunze.
The project is part of the development plans of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo to open up the state for businesses to thrive and make it more attractive for investors.
CPCS is a Canadian-based infrastructure advisory organization that has been involved in the development of several major rail projects in Nigeria, including the Lagos-Ibadan railway line.
Government of Anambra State expects the railway project to be completed within the next five years.
