Video Of How Police Operatives assaults South Africa returnee and his friend in Delta
A South Africa returnee (name withheld) and his friend were allegedly as*aulted by operatives in Ughelli, Delta State.
The incident occurred on Saturday when the victims on their way from Asaba, ran into a checkpoint mounted by the operatives just before Eclat Hotel at the entrance of Ughelli.
According to the South Africa returnee who narrated their ordeal to our correspondent, he was sitting inside the vehicle observing the scenario when he saw one of the operatives sl@p the friend that drove after rejecting N500 he gave them, because it is too small.
Out of concern, he stepped down to record the scene and was dragged into the melee that ensued.
He narrated that the operatives noticing that they were been recorded, descended on him as well and in a bid to forcefully collect his phone, sl@pped him severally.
He said there was no option than to release the phone when they started hitting him on his private part also.
“We begged them to take us to the station but they refused, instead we were bundled to an abandoned filling station where the videos I recorded were deleted.
“Luckily, the video recorded on Snapchat was not deleted because the app was minimized and they did not take note, he said.
However, when asked if they were extorted thereafter, he replied in the negative stating that they were allowed to go after deleting the videos.
