MSF Withdraws Services In Zamfara Over Insecurity – Doctors Without Borders

Patients & MSF staff are safe following clashes in Zurmi, Zamfara. Rising level of insecurity has forced a partial evacuation of MSF staff, halting outreach activities. Limited access to free health facilities exposes the most vulnerable to greater risks.

Due to the proximity of clashes to Zurmi General Hospital, MSF could not guarantee the safety of its patients and staff. MSF urges actors to safeguard medical facilities and allow for the provision of free healthcare in #Zamfara.

MSF appeals to all parties involved to cease hostilities immediately to protect vulnerable persons. We will do our best to maintain operations however we urge other humanitarian actors to increase their support to displaced populations affected by conflict in #Zamfara.
