Mazi Okoronkwo's 28 years memory and achievements so far as Nigerian Int'l boxer after Abia State was created

Abia State Government through Sports Council/Boxing Association immediately invited and employed Ikechukwu Okoronkwo as active Athletes in the Field of Boxing.
Ikechukwu Okoronkwo qualified at Umuahia township stadium Boxing Trial and represented Abia State in National Open Boxing Championship at indoor sports hall National Stadium surulere Lagos, he won Gold medal to become the then Light Weight Boxing Nigeria/ National Champion.
That, made Ikechukwu Okoronkwo to became the first male athlete/Boxer to have won Gold Medal for Abia State at National open Boxing Tournament at Lagos in 1992.
This, attracted Ikechukwu Okoronkwo’s call to National Camp at Games Village surulere Lagos for National Service wherein the then young Ikechukwu Okoronkwo moved from Light Weight division class from( 57kg to 60kg) to higher weight class Light welter weight division Class from ( 60kg to 63.5kg) to qualified and represented Nigeria in Many international outing in Montreal_ Canada,Cuba and others.

Nigeria Ex international Boxer Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo (Brief record of International Boxing achievement: Nigeria Boxer Ikechukwu Okoronkwo won Gold medal for Nigeria at (President Cup)IBB International Boxing Tournament for World peace Hosted at Lagos from 13th to 20th September 1992 in boxing weight class of Light welter Weight Boxing division ( from 60kg to 63.5kg) after Technically and Skillful ability earned Ikechukwu Okoronkwo victories against South Africa Opponent in Semifinal and also outclassed the vateran hard hitter opponent from Benin Republic in the Finals to become the Champion in that division ( Gold medal for Nigeria)
