Blind Nigerian Boxer: Nigeria Boxing Forum Renders Assistance
It could be recalled that the Media reported some days ago that one Nigerian boxer who won gold medal in commonwealth boxing, 1974, took the social media in a trending video to cry for help. seeking the intervention of the Nigeria federal government in his current situation as a blindman. The blind boxer, Stephen Ogbo, was seen in viral video lamenting and begging for food on the street calling on the government to assist him as an ex international boxer.
The case of the blind boxer raised a great dust in the Nigerian boxing system that the Ministry of Youths and Sports appointed one of the famous Nigerian Ex International Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo to make proper investigation on the situation.
In his observation after a thorough investigation, as reported by Mr Obiagwu Chrys, the media aide of the Ex International Boxer and Ambassador for sports in Boxing, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, the Commonwealth Medals of 1974 and other evidences which was claimed to have been the evidence to prove Mr Stephen Ogbo as an ex international boxer could not be verified. This is because, during the cause of investigation after Mazi Okoronkwo called Mr Stephen Ogbo, he slated to meet with him one on one on number of days, but Mr Stephen Ogbo will always sharply proffered excuses to inhibit the meeting.

One of the reasons he gave was that he was travelling to Cross River State to see his doctor. The next day after the day he said he was traveling Mazi Okoronkwo called only to discovered that he has always been in his residence in Enugu all these while. Listen to voice call here
Because his evidences were not verified as a result of him, eluding meeting with Mazi Okoronkwo, The Ministry became fade up. But because, according Mazi Okoronkwo, the blind boxer was trying to draw attention, The Nigeria Boxing forum through the good efforts of Mazi Okoronkwo decided to take social responsibility help Mr Ogbo not because of his claims as an ex international boxer but because he is blind and needed help. Attention has to be drawn in the right path. Even though the drawn attention by Mr Ogbo was wrapped with unverified informations, Mr Ogbo is a blindman, he was a boxer and he is a Nigerian for these reasons, he needs help.
