According to our correspondence, this demolition was targetted on Ariaria international market, Aba to proffer lasting solution to the incessant flood in Aba. Traders Lament As Ariaria International Market, Aba is Destroyed
During an interview with an eye witness, Mr Michael, it was reported that almost every year, one or two or three segments of Ariaria international market will be demolished sending old occupants away and replacing the new ones. Mr Michael lamented that demolishing Ariaria international market is not the solution to stopping flood in Aba, rather it creates unemployment, increases poverty and hardship, and fuels crimes.
He suggested that the solution to Aba flood is not demolishing the market but to make right channels through which the flood moves as he attributed flood to stagnancy of water.
