Sky Sports pundit, Graeme Souness, has insisted former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, should take some blame for Mohamed Elneny’s poor defensive skills.
Souness was speaking following the Gunners’ 1-0 defeat to Burnley on Sunday evening.
Mikel Arteta’s side is now without a win in their last five Premier League games.
Arsenal had Granit Xhaka sent off and were lucky to see Elneny remain on the pitch after he shoved James Tarkowski’s face during a corner.
Souness has now slammed the club’s coaching staff, including Wenger, for failing to teach Elneny how to defend at set-pieces.
“That has to go back to Arsene Wenger. He signed him,” he said.
“Whoever signed him and worked with him for a period of time.
“Him or his coaches have got to say this is how you mark.”
