As the naira crisis continues to worsen, foreign carriers operating in Nigeria have begun moves to reduce the total number of tickets they sell on Nigerian routes amid worsening dollar scarcity that has made it difficult for them to repatriate billions of naira in ticket sale proceeds to their head offices abroad.
The development will lead to a significant reduction in the about N1tn total ticket sales over 25 foreign carriers make on Nigerian routes.
This is happening as the International Air Transport Association–the global body for international carriers–said foreign airlines operating in Nigeria had been unable to repatriate about $144m (N60bn) in ticket sales back to their home countries, calling on the Federal Government to make forex available to the carriers to do so…..

A good Samaritan who read about the incident in Saturday PUNCH contacted her and transferred N100,000 into her account.

The winner of Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ Season 6, Hazel Onou, popularly called Whitemoney, has said he will like to go into full-time entertainment and will feature veteran Nigerian singer, Duncan Mighty, and release a single before the end of the year.
Speaking live on a radio show monitored by Sunday Scoop, the 29-year old said, “I am focusing on doing businesses, and I want to do full-time entertainment too. I will drop a single before the end of the year, and it will feature Duncan Mighty. Although I have not reached out to him about it, however, I am using this medium to make my plans known.”
When asked about his love life and some of his love interests while on the reality show, Whitemoney said it was now tougher to find true love since he won the N90m grand prize….

The Senate Committee on Health has said the migration of doctors abroad has some benefits, saying many were returning to the country with skills and resources to give back.
The chairman of the committee, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe, said this when he led other members on an oversight duty to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
Oloriegbe, however, said there were ongoing efforts to source for resources to ensure better pay and improved welfare for doctors and health workers in the country….

2023: APC endorses pro-Osinbajo support group

Supporters of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, under the aegis of the Progressives Consolidation Group, have received the approval of the All Progressives Congress to canvass support for his emergence as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
The approval was contained in a letter titled, ‘Letter of Recognition as a Support Group,’ dated October 4, 2021, and signed by the Director of Administration of the APC, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman.
The letter, which was addressed to the PCG, read in part, “We write to inform you that the National Chairman, His Excellency, Mai Mala Buni, has approved your recognition as a support group of the party.”….
