DPO Caution Youths To Detest Crime, Engage in Meaningful Ventures

A Divisional Police Officer in Anambra State have cautioned Nigerian youths against involving themselves in ventures that promote insecurity in the country.

The advice was given at the weekend when a youth group, Society for Youths Against Crime paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Fegge Police Division, Onitsha, CSP Rabiu Garba.

He advised youths to respect constituted authority and engage in meaningful ventures in order to become self reliant.

Mr.Rabiu a seasoned police officer made the remark while responding to a speech by the group’s National Coordinator,Mr.Wilfred Ndidi.

The DPO stated that the high rate of crime in the country and involvement of youths in crime were disturbing and called on Nigerian youths to remain focused and thrive to engage in legitimate ventures that would promote peace and security in the country.

He commended the leader of the visiting youth group and his members for their visit and wished them well in their endeavours.

Earlier in his speech,Coordinator, Society for Youths Against Crime,Mr.Wilfred Ndidi explained that the group decided to thank the DPO for his robust fight against criminals under his Division.

Mr.Ndidi said that the DPO’s sense of history and friendly disposition with youths can not be forgotten in a hurry, especially during the infamous “EndSARS Protest” in 2020.

The DPO, Mr.Garba had surprised Nigerians during the 2020 EndSARS Protest when he courageously stood before the rampaging youths  and addressed  them.

The informal address which went viral attracted encomiums from members of the public , however, discouraged the protesting vandals from setting the police station on fire.
