Manchester United’s player are reportedly sick and tired of Cristiano Ronaldo’s attempts to quit the club and are convinced his antics have played a big part in their terrible start to the campaign

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Manchester United team-mates think his behaviour over the past few weeks has been “damaging” for the club.

The 37-year-old handed in a transfer request back in June and sat out United’s pre-season trips to Thailand and Australia in an attempt to force his way out. He returned for their final pre-season fixture against Rayo Vallecano, but ruffled feathers by leaving the stadium early having been hooked at half time.

According to Yahoo Sports, the vast majority of the United squad think Ronaldo has been acting selfishly all summer and his antics have played a major part in the club’s catastrophic start to the season.

United have continually insisted Ronaldo isn’t for sale, with manager Erik ten Hag reportedly happy to keep him, though it’s understood he’s reconsidering that position in light of recent events.

The Red Devils have kicked off their season with back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Brentford, leaving them rock bottom of the Premier League for the first time in 30 years.

Ronaldo featured in both games though is still desperate to quit Old Trafford, in spite of the fact elite clubs don’t appear to be particularly interested in signing him.

Should Ronaldo get his wish and leave, Ten Hag will want to bring in another goalscorer, with a move for PSG’s Mauro Icardi potentially on the cards.

Elsewhere, United are trying to wrap up a deal for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, especially with efforts to sign Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong being all but abandoned. Continue reading…
