Imo boxer slumps and dies inside ring after punch from Anambra opponent
A boxer representing Imo State at the ongoing National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, Chukwuemeka Igboanugo, has died in the ring.
During the 86kg duel on Monday, Dec. 5, the boxer received a punch in his chin from his opponent Prince Gaby Amagor, from Anambra state.
When Igboanugo failed to get up, the referee ended the fight and declared Amagor the winner.
Igboanugo was immediately removed from the ring for medical attention before being rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Continue reading
