Presidency: Citizens without PVCs are enemies of Nigeria; prominent pastor declares

The Senior Pastor of the Bible Base Miracle Assembly, Rev. Dr Jerry Nwachukwu, has declared that any Nigerian, 18 years and above, who has no permanent voters cards, is an enemy of the country.

He made the assertion yesterday, during a special service in his church located at No.19 Ezendu Street, off Mercedes Avenue, Nkpor, in Idemili North local government area of Anambra state.

Nwachukwu noted that PVC makes man an opinion member of the society, and an agent of transportation, change and good governance; adding that if one does not have PVC, he has no right to complain about bad governance.

He said, “Permanent Voters Card makes you an opinion member, and agent of transportation, change and good governance. If you are out there, and you have no PVC, you have no right to complain against bad governance; because, you did not play any role for the right person to emerge as leader.

“One vote counts, and those who have no PVCs, I see them as enemies, because, they cannot contribute to good governance. So, right there, if you do not have yours that qualifies you to vote on election day, you are part of the problems that stops the country from moving forward.

“As a leader, I do not have trust on any of my followers that do not contribute to liberate people from bad governance. And there is no way you can make any meaningful contributions if you do not vote on the election day. Prayer and fasting are good; but they cannot give victory to your choice candidate. INEC does not count prayer points, they count votes.”

Pastor Nwachukwu also encouraged Nigerians to exercise patience in the face of the present economic and social realities occasioned by naira note shortage and scarcity of petroleum products.

He suggested that since the present realities are artificial and man-made, Nigerians should elect a credible leadership that can remove the country and its people from the woods.

He said, “Don’t vote for anybody that is part of the problem Nigerians are going through now. Do not disrupt the elections. Do not carry up arms to protest; rather, take your protest to the polling boot on February 25, and elect a president that will put smile on the faces of Nigerians; not people that will increase our woes.”
