Amokachi: Why Ighalo Is Not Starting Ahead Of Rashford At Manchester United

Nigerian legend Daniel Amokachi has explained why Odion Ighalo is yet to start an English Premier League match for Manchester United.
Ighalo has caught the eye with some impressive displays in cup competitions for the Red Devils having netted five goals in five matches.
The 31-year-old marksman is competing with fellow strikers Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, who have been in good scoring form.
Amokachi, who played in the Premier League for Everton between 1994 and 1996, discussed the Shanghai Shenhua loanee’s situation at United.
“Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo from Shanghai Shenhua as a back up to then injured Rashford. Now, Rashford is back from injury and so Ighalo has to take a back seat again,” Amokachi said on Sun News Online.
“Our brother Odion was not loaned from Shanghai Shenhua as a starter at Man United but he has scored in the matches he started so Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may even decide that he has done well and deserves to have an extended time there, you never know.
“We cannot expect him to have more playing time than the likes of Rashford and Anthony Martial because he is only a backup there.”
Ighalo has made nine appearances in the Premier League for United as a substitute and he is yet to score for the team in the competition.
He will be hoping to start matches in the UEFA Europa League and FA Cup soon. (The Sun)
