Anambra CP Presents Cheques of N9.3m To Deceased Police Officers’ Families

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Echeng Echeng has presented cheques of Nine million, three hundred thousand Naira  to thirteen (13) families of deceased Police officers attached to the State Command, who died while in active service in the State.

According to the CP Echeng , the presentation of the cheques was part of the Inspector General of Police, IGP’s family welfare insurance scheme to the families of deceased police officers, added that their welfare is of paramount importance to the Administration of the Force.

While presenting the cheques, the commissioner said that he appreciates the Inspector General of Police for the gesture, adding that it was timely and would go a long way in alleviating sufferings being faced by families of deceased police officers.

CP Echeng also charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that in the last five months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police seven times and presented same to the beneficiaries.

The Commissioner, who represented the IGP, assured that officers and men of the Command would continue to put in their best to ensure peace, security and safety of  Anambra State and Nigeria as a whole, also assuring them that the welfare and well-being of the police officers in Nigeria would remain paramount.

He also stressed that the current administration would continue to recognise the importance of the Nigeria police in the protection of lives and properties.

CP Echeng appreciated the IGP’s relentless effort geared towards ensuring an enduring and sustainable welfare packages for the police force.

He charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that in the last five months, the Command had received similar cheques from the Inspector General of Police seven times and presented same to the beneficiaries.

“This will serve as morale booster to the serving members of the force to continue to discharge their duties effectively,” he added.

The families of deceased Police Officers commended the Inspector General of Police for the gesture and promised to use the money judiciously.
