Amend Your Ways Or You Perish – Anambra CP Warns, Vows To Take Fight Against Kidnappers

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, has warned criminals terrorizing Anambra State to steer clear the state or meet their untimely end.

The CP gave the warning on Wednesday, July 12, at the police headquarters in Awka, the state capital. while parading the remains of criminal gang members killed by a joint taskforce of police and vigilante; as well as incriminating items recovered from them.

The CP said, “On 11/7/2023 by 8:30pm, the joint security operatives attached to Forwarding Operating Base (FOB) while on patrol around Uga-Ezinifite expressway in Aguata LGA of the state, attempted to stop two vehicles (an ash colour highlander jeep and a white Lexus 305) that drove suspiciously.

“The occupants started shooting to escape police screening. The joint taskforce returned the fire and neutralized two of the gang members, while others escaped with other vehicles.

“Police recovered one of the operational vehicles used by the robbers, two automatic pump action guns, eleven live cartridges, and a bag containing one walkie-talkie, one cell phone, etc.

“During an intense chase by the joint forces, the deadly gang abandoned the white Lexus 305 jeep, and took to their heels.

“Operators of public and private hospitals should admit, but report anyone with bullet wounds or related injuries to nearest police station.”

The CP said Anambra police command is collaborating with sister states to ensure that inter-border security is intensified, in order to make the region too hot for criminals.
