Anambra Police Admit Lapses, Vow To Re-Arrest Escaped Murder Suspects of Lawmaker

The Anambra State Police Command has taken full responsibility for the operational lapses that led to the escape of two suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Hon. Justice Azuka, the lawmaker representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency
In a statement by the SP Tochukwu Ikenga ,Police Public Relations Officer Anambra State Command stating that the Command assured the public that all necessary efforts were being made to recapture the fugitives and bring those responsible to justice.
According to SP Ikenga “We shall not rest until the fleeing suspects are re-arrested and all those involved are brought to book,” He said.
The Command emphasized its commitment to keeping Ndi Anambra and the general public informed about the evolving security situation.
It also urged stakeholders to exercise restraint in their comments to prevent escalating tensions.
“While we recognize the right to freedom of speech, we urge individuals and groups to avoid inciting remarks that could disrupt the impartiality of our investigation. Justice must prevail,” Ikenga stated.
The police reassured residents that strengthening security across the state remains a top priority, with renewed efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.
