Awka, Feb. 20, 2025 –
The Anambra State Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to justice following the escape of suspects linked to the brutal murder of Hon. Justice Azuka.
In a statement issued today, the command’s spokesperson, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, reaffirmed that the police remain dedicated to apprehending the criminals and ensuring they face justice.
“Please trust us again. The police cannot be the same people who risked their lives alongside other security operatives to arrest these criminals, only to sabotage the process,” Tochukwu stated.
He emphasized that the suspects had been previously paraded before the public, demonstrating the police’s transparency and responsibility in handling the case.
While investigations are ongoing into the security lapses that led to the escape, Tochukwu assured that the officers found culpable would face serious sanctions. However, he stressed that the police’s primary focus remains on re-arresting the fleeing suspects.
The command called on the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement as efforts intensify to bring the suspects back into custody.
