One of the foremost support groups in Nigeria under the aegis of APGA Solidarity Movement (ASM) recently visited the Anambra State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), High Chief (Barr. ) Ifeatu Obi-Okoye (Igiligi Global) in his office domiciled inside the APGA’s Regional Secretariat, Agu-Awka.

Speaking on the visit the National Convener of ASM, Honourable (Sir) Ebere Okafor paid a glowing tribute to the APGA’s helmsman in Anambra State, describing him as a experienced politician and a seasoned grassroots mobilizer, saying that they were in his office to not only appreciated for his good works within the party but to inform him about their plans to rejig the political settings of the state with their clearcut policies and programmes.

Hon. Okafor explained that ASM has been in existence for a very long time, assuring that their mandate was to defend, promote and complement the activities of the party in the state and at the national level, adding that they would continue to support the party at all levels.

‘We have members in all the polling units, wards and local governments. We have enough manpower to carry out laudable initiatives that impact directly on the party and affect the lives of the party faithful positively. We cannot do without the party leadership across all levels.

‘We have our programmes cut out. We have penciled down names of those to be visited. We are beginning with you as the chairman of APGA in Anambra State. We want to lessen the burden of the party by taking up actions geared towards making the party better, bigger and better,’ he stated.

The National Convener who thanked the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for creating the enabling environment for them to thrive and for churning out quality and life changing projects in the state, commended the National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa for his continued support guidance, reiterating their commitment support towards him.

‘We are solidly behind our National Chairman. Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa remains our one and only National Chairman. We’ll continue to support and follow his footsteps and directive,’he concluded.

Receiving the Think Tank members of ASM, High Chief Obi-Okoye noted that he was not unaware of the existence of the group, saying that he follows their activities and was happy with the organisational skills of the leadership of APGA Solidarity Movement, emphasizing that he would continue to protect and backed their interest as well as their activities aimed at adding value to the party and its followers.

Chief Obi-Okoye stressed the importance of creating opportunities for members of the party and also keeping them abreast of happenings within the party, stating that he initiated the Solution Kindred Initiative (SKI) targeted at getting all the Kindreds in all the villages and communities.

The APGA Anambra State’s Boss said outcome of the voting exercises in the state are actually not in anyway commensurate with the number of registered voters in all the polling units and Wards, emphasizing that the party in the state is strictly working out ways to ensure that reasonable numbers of votes are garnered by the party during elections..

‘We see huge numbers of registered voters on paper but on election day only few would be out to vote. We are actually working hard through the Solution Kindred Initiative (SKI) to ensure that APGA gets enough votes that will correspond with the number of registered voters in each polling unit. We want a situation where many people will come out and cast their votes for the party,’ he concluded.

Exchange of pleasantries, group photographs, passing of vote of confidence on the state chairman formed the highpoints of the occa­sion.
