Bridge-Head  Market Election Turns Celebration Galore As President Retains Seat

Traders ( Delegates ) at Bridge-Head Market Onitsha Anambra State joined in celebrating  the victory of their former President General, Mr. Sunday Obinze who was  re-elected , retained his seat as Market President to lead the Market for another four years.

The election proper / Inauguration of executive members of Bridge-Head market was took place at Anambra State Market Amalgamated Traders Association ” ASMATA” Secretariat Office, Modebe  Avenue, Onitsha Anambra State returned Mr. Sunday Obinze unopposed with 241 votes.

The emergence of the market incumbent President, Mr. Sunday Obinze ,  our reporter gathered was a reflection of the popularity of the market boss who has ruled the large market for the first term of four years.

Mr. Obinze , a sole candidate for the position of the market President scored 241 votes in what was witnessed as a free and fair election, with option A4 system was adopted commenced shotly after delegates who casted votes was  thoroughly accredited and supervised by Hon. Sam Emeka  who is the Electoral Committee Chairman Anambra State / Onitsha  Zonal Leader  ASMATA Onitsha.

Hon. Sunday Nwasa who represented Commissioner for trade, Markets and Commerce, Hon. Uche Okafor praised the effort of the traders in ensuring a very smooth and successful conduct of election , also stressing that the election was just a mere game and test of one’s popularity in the market.

In his appreciation speech, the elected president general, Mr. Sunday Obinze expressed delights for the peaceful conducts of the election and eulogized traders for re-electing him and his exectives, pointing out that re-electing them showned that they did  well in their first tenure.

He commends accolades on the Governor Willie Obiano, Hon. Uche Okafor and Chief Ikechukwu Ekwegbalu which he said with out their approval, the election could not have conducted. He also praised the line Chairmen and delegates for their matured behaviours during the election, promising to do more work  and re-double his efforts in lifting  the Market to an enviable height.

Other Exectives returned unopposed alongside Mr.Sunday Obinze include Mr. Sunday Aniagbaoso–1st Vice president 210 votes, Mr. Muolokwu Syvester–2nd Vice president 178 Votes, Mr.Dan Egbeigwe–General Secretary 193 Votes, Mr.Mike Umezuluike–Vice Secretary, Mr. Emma Obunzo–Financial secretary, Mr. Benjamin Chikwuo-(PRO), Mrs Ngozi Okolo–Wellfare officer, Mr. Emma Ekwelo–Assistant well fare, Mr. Sunday Onwuasoanya, Mrs. Nkoli Onyeanusi and Mr. Vitus Nwanolu were provosts respectively .

Commenting, one of the stakeholders in the Market, Chief Ignatius Agbalizu affairmed that the election was free, fare and transperant, advising the new executives to do more works  for the traders and urged those who are jostling for leadership in the Market to exercise patient with the new executives so that after four years, they could contest for the Market election.

Contributing , the Chairman of Drug Market Bridge-Head Onitsha , Mr. Donatus Ajamma stated that the victory of Mr. Sunday Obinze was a victory of a righteous Man, urging those who had been spending money in filling litigations to rest and safe their resources or use it for charity work.

While urging the winners to exercise magnanimity in victory , Hon. Sam Emeka lauded traders for maintaining absolute tranquility during the election, reminding them that they came to observe their election and the election which the witnessed was satisfactory.

The high point was the swearing-in of the newly elected executives by the one of Legal Adviser of the market , Mr. Ajagwu (Authority).
