…Appoints New General Secretary
The leadership of the Nigeria Civil Service Union has joined forces with the national leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress to condemn the anti-workers policies of the Kaduna State Government over the inhuman treatment being meted out on the workers in Kaduna.
This was part of 12 points communiqué issued at the end of the National Executive Council meetings held in Abuja.
The NEC meeting outrightly condemned “in all its entirety the indiscriminate, unwarranted and illegal sack of Public Servants in Kaduna State by Governor Naisr El-rufai Government “The NEC meeting explicitly supported the entire action taken by the National leadership of Nigeria Labour Congress to mount necessary pressure that will make the Kaduna State Government see reason why the Governor should treat human being especially workers with dignity and honor “the statement added”
The communiqué which was signed by the National President Comrade (Chief) Lawrence Uchechukwu Amaechi and the General Secretary Comrade Yahaya Ndako further expressed serious concerned over the high level of insecurity threatening the Nigeria unity.
The meeting observed that it was unspeakable that the high rate of banditry, kidnapping, ritual killings and disturbing armed herdsmen across the country and called on the Federal Government to re-strategize and scale up new frontiers that would clip the dreadful tide of insecurity in the country.
The NEC-in-Session supported a proper restructuring of the country that would lead to true federalism in all facet of political architecture of Nigeria and in line with the dictate, lettered and spirit of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The true federalism of Nigeria will mitigate against race for the control of national government” true federalism will stimulate fair share of the nation’s resources.
On the new minimum wage, the meeting called on the various states that are yet to implement the New National Minimum Wage to do so in order not to see the wrath of Nigerian workers, the meeting recalled that the New Minimum Wage Act was signed into law by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammandu Bahari in April 2018, the defaulting states are hereby advised to be law abiding and implement the minimum wage without further delay so as not to witness any industrial crisis in their respective states.

On the increase of the prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Electricity Tariff the NEC caution Federal Government of Nigeria to be conscious of the facts that all households in Nigeria make use of premium motor spirit in one way or the other as well as electricity, the Nigeria Civil Service Union hereby called on the Federal Government to spare a very strong thought for the urgent repair of refineries to avert over dependence on the importation of premium motor spirit.
The Federal Government should be responsible enough to provide regulatory policy that will ensure consistent template which will not put electricity consumers in the hands of self serving and exploitative hands of electricity distribution companies so that consumers can be excused from the cleavages of exploiters.
The meeting commended the Benue State Government, His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom on the various infrastructural and Human resources development and other giant stride in all sectors of the state economy and most especially the appointment of two members of the Nigeria Civil Service Union to the post of commissioners during the first time and his present second term in persons of Comrade Joseph Shimaor and Comrade Pastor Ojema Ojoto respectively.
The National Executive Council meeting approved the appointment of new General Secretary of the Union in person of Comrade Mohammed Ibraheem Bomoi with effect from 1st September, 2021 while not less than one hundred and fourteen (114) staff of the Union were promoted to various categories of grade levels.
