New star on the block, Odion Ighalo, has been dropped from Manchester United’s training camp in Spain due to emerging regulations aimed at checking the spread of Coronavirus disease.
The retired Super Eagles forward joined the 20-time champions on loan from China on deadline day of the Winter transfer window.
He is now set to miss his first training camp in Spain as it is not guaranteed he would clear UK immigration on his return should border restrictions tighten on travellers who have been in China within past 14 days following the coronavirus outbreak.
Ighalo, who supported United as a child, will stay in Manchester on a personal training and fitness programme to be ready to join in team training sessions when squad returns.
This is simply a precautionary measure as the situation continues to be monitored,” a club statement read.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer added: “Because of the situation in China, we’re not sure if he would be allowed back into England if he leaves the country again, so he’s staying here working with a personal coach, individual programme and his family then can settle in England.”
