Martha Agba, a seasoned public servant and former aspirant for the Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally announced her intention to run for the position of Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area. Driven by a deep commitment to nation-building through service, Agba is set on transforming Obudu through effective governance and grassroots development.

In her declaration, Agba underscored her passion for development and a relentless drive to translate promises into tangible outcomes for all residents of Obudu. She acknowledged the significant challenges currently facing the Local Government Area and pledged to address these issues head-on with the collective input and support of the community. Agba promised that, under her leadership, Obudu would experience substantial and meaningful development.

Agba, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Affairs to the Cross River State Governor, emphasized her familiarity with the complexities of public service and her readiness for the task ahead. Her campaign agenda is built on eight core pillars: Transparency, Education, Healthcare Delivery, Youth and Women Empowerment, Infrastructural Development, Agriculture and Food Security, Humanitarian Services, and Security and Peace Building.

“Obudu is at a critical juncture,” Agba stated, “and the choices we make today will shape the future of our Local Government Area.”

Martha Agba’s credentials include a degree in Business Administration from Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State, and a Master’s degree in International Affairs & Strategic Studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy. She has also participated in numerous workshops and seminars, including the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) Conference in New York, further demonstrating her commitment to leadership and development.
