Grassroot boxing talent hunt: Mazi Okoronkwo presents the champion of the champions, Victory Nnaji to Enugu North LGA
It is quiet a day to remember as Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, the Nigerian ex international boxer and sports Ambassador boxing presented one of the champions of the 7th edition, Speaker Enugu state House Of Assembly, Grass Root Boxing Talent Hunt grand finale, Victory Nnaji to his LGA, Enugu North for recognition.
This event took place at the Enugu North LGA on Thursday, 22nd August in the office of the DPM Enugu North LGA, Mrs Ugwu Roseline Ngozika. In presence of members of the management of Enugu North LGA.
Addressing the members of the LGA during introduction in the recognition event, Mazi Okoronkwo summarized how he, the co-ordinator of the grassroot boxing talent hunt discovered Master Victory Nnaji. According to him, Victory Nnaji displayed excellent skills during the grand finale of the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Grass Root Boxing Talent Hunt championship to the point that even the speaker himself was clapping. Having seen all these skills and achievement, Mazi Okoronkwo decided to present him to his LGA. He also intend to do same to all the champions he trained.
On the other hand, the DPM Enugu North LGA Mrs Ugwu Roseline Ngozika having welcomed all present in the recognition event, displayed excitement as she maintained that Enugu North, being the first LGA to be created in the Eastern region will always remain first in all. She further thanked the co-ordinator of the Grass Root Boxing Talent Hunt, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, for efforts invested to ensure this level of progress, also she encouraged Victory Nnaji and urged he to continue on the path he has chosen.
The trophy was then handed over to the LGA for recognition purposes. In response, Mrs Ugwu gave some cash price as a form of encouragement to Victory Nnaji.
