Grassroot Boxing Talent Hunt: Mazi Okoronkwo fumes over the way boxing athletes are being handled in the Southeast

The Nigerian ex international boxer and ambassador for sports, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo in a six minutes voice note sent to Chrysora Media has fumed over the way sport’s athletes are being handled in the Southeast.

Mazi Okoronkwo frowned at the actions of the sports directors, coaches and all those in the sports council who in anyway have contributed or still contributing to the way the sports athletes are being mismanaged in the South East.

Feeling careless about who gets hurt by his utterances, Mazi Okorokwo vows to fight anyone who comes his way in his quest to ensure that sports athletes are kept in the level they should be.

The sports ambassador call for employment on these sports athletes to enable them cope and appreciate a working nation this will in turn keep Nigeria in their hearts in such a way that anywhere they go to round the world, they will definitely comeback to develop their country.

In reaction, Ephraim O, the Director of Coaching/Sports, Enugu State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development Enugu said

“What you said is true and your ideas are great, and I want to assure you that plans are on the way to do the things right in the ministry of youth and sports Enugu state. You know for a very long time, many things went wrong in sports because of bad leadership and bad management, but now we have a Commissioner who has the zeal, passion and capacity to move sports forward in Enugu state. Just give us a little time to address the issues. As for me as the Director of coaching/sports, I will always give the Commissioner the professional advice he needs in order to do well. Thanks for your concern bro 👊”
