Grassroots sports: Mazi Okoronkwo officiates Seat of Wisdom School inter-house sports competition

It is a day full of joy for the Blue house of Seat Of Wisdom College, Enugu as they took the first position in the school inter-house sports officiated by the Nigerian Ex international boxer and sports ambassador, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo.

This sports took event on Friday, 8th March in the school premises, Seat of Wisdom College, Enugu.

This event attracted the presence of dignitaries including former Nigeria Minister of Federal Republic of Nigeria and Former President General Ohaneze Ndi Worldwide, Nnia Nwodo, Ex International Boxer and Sports Ambassador Boxing, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo, Pride of South East and current South East Nigeria light weight Boxing Champion Chinaza Okoronkwo and Former Commissioner for Education, Mrs Grace Obayi.

Speaking shortly after the event, Mazi Comr Ikechukwu Okoronkwo applauded the good decision of seat of wisdom school for hosting this 2024 inter house sports competition for the students, according to him this event will search for some grassroot sports talents hidden in the students and also a source of motivation.

He lamented seriously on the inability of government schools to hold competitions like this in Enugu which according to him was because of the incessant politics played by some government officials.

“The information I got is that Pubic schools in Enugu State returned all the money parent paid to support 2024 inter house sports competition which has resulted in cancellation of all the inter house sports in Enugu State Government own Schools which is regrettable as parents were surprised on what could make the Government to take the above decision” Mazi Okoronkwo lamented.

He therefore called on Government own Schools and its administrators to learn this kind of experiental Teaching from Private Schools especially as we have witnessed positive inter house sports competition which have ended in Praise.

At the end of the event Blue house took the 1st Position, Red House took the 2nd Position While White House took the 3rd Position.
